This summer, I challenged myself to daily renew my mind by frequently listening to worship music, whether it be in the morning before my quiet times with God, while i’m cleaning, or doing homework for my online class and YOU GUYS, IT’S A SOUL AND MIND CHANGER. I found myself more renewed and encouraged when I frequently listened to worship music. Without further ado, here are some worship songs that have encouraged me this summer (in no particular order):

1.) Highlands (Song of Ascent)-Hillsong United

This song is one of my favorites off of Hillsong United's newest album, People (which has become one of my favorite worship albums). From start to finish, this song reminds my soul that God is worthy of all praise, in the hills and the valleys of life, and that He is the same God in those hills and valleys.

2.) Another In the Fire-Hillsong United

Surprise (not) surprise, another Hillsong United People song. This is another one of my favorites off this album. A friend of mine introduced me to this song before People came out and it holds so many truths and reminders of who God is. I'm reminded of the story in the book of Daniel where Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fire after refusing to bow down to King Nebuchadnezzar, but were not harmed in any way, for The Lord was with them. In the same way, this song is a reminder to me that i'm not alone in the storms of life and the fires that rage, for He is with me.

3.) In Moses Day-Kingdom Culture Worship

I found out about this song after listening to another song of Kingdom Culture Worship's called "Abide". I was moved by it and decided to listen to the entire self-titled album and this song stuck out to me. A few my favorite lines from the song read like this:

Like You were in Moses' day

You will be faithful.

The battle, it is won.

You have overcome.

This part of the song reminded me that God's character is unchanging. The same God that went before and was with Moses and the people of Israel is the same God with me today. He is faithful (and will forever be) and is fighting my battles.

4.) Met by Love-United Pursuit

I discovered this song after randomly shuffling on a worship playlist I follow on Spotify and it captivated my soul from the moment I heard it. I love the opening verse of the song, which reads like this:

There is none, none like You.

Who can know my heart like You do?

For all creation sings Your song

I will join with them, declaring Your glory.

I'm reminded through this song that God is an intentional, loving, kind, one-of-a-kind God and we have the privilege of being able to worship Him and declare His glory.

5.) Seasons Change-United Pursuit

This song is one of my favorites off of United Pursuit's album, Simple Gospel. After listening to Met By Love, I decided to listen to the entire album and this song also stood out to me. This song simply remind me that though the seasons of life do change, He is the same. I love the second verse of the song, which simply says:

Lord, You've been faithful to plant the seed.

And You will be faithful to always send Your rain.

These two lines remind me that the He who started the good work in me will finish it.

6.) See A Victory-Elevation Worship

This song was recently released, but it has already encouraged my soul. From start to finish, this song is filled with endless truths and reminders that God is bigger than what I'm facing, and that He will be by my side fighting my battles. It's hard to choose a favorite line from this song, but i love the opening verse, which says:

The weapon may be formed, but it won't prosper When the darkness falls, it won't prevail 'Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph My God will never fail Oh, My God will never fail

God is not scared of my giants, and I shouldn't be for He is with me.
